Upon successful completion of the learning experience, students will be able to: describe the composition, function and importance of the cardiovascular system through lecture and hands on dissections; identify the different types of glands and their functions in the human body; discuss the components of the immune system and the different types of responses of the body; explain the function of the urinary system and the different pathological conditions of its dysfunction; identify the organs and structure part of the male and female reproductive system and their function; identify the different organs of the digestive system and their function; discuss the anatomy and function of the respiratory systems and its importance in maintaining human health; and discuss the interaction between different physiological systems of the body and diseases associated with its dysfunction.
Instructions:
Anatomy and Physiology II is a continuation of Anatomy and Physiology I. Students learn about different human physiological systems. Topics include the Cardiovascular system, the Endocrine system, the Urinary system, the Immune and Lymphatic system, Digestive system, and the Reproductive system. Prerequisite: Anatomy and Physiology I (SCI-201).Â
Credit Recommendation:
In the associate/certificate degree category OR in the lower division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 3 semester hours in Biology, Life Sciences, Health Science, or Anatomy and Physiology II (3/24).
