Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: analyze the key principles and processes of creative problem solving and explain how they contribute to innovative thinking and effective decision-making; apply structured questioning and problem-framing techniques to define complex problems and generate multiple solution pathways; evaluate the role of continuous learning, curiosity, and knowledge acquisition in enhancing creativity and adaptability; analyze how self-awareness, perception, and cognitive biases influence creative thinking and problem-solving outcomes; apply creative thinking strategies, including play, experimentation, and interdisciplinary approaches, to develop original ideas; evaluate the impact of cognitive diversity and different thinking styles on innovation and solution quality; apply decision-making frameworks and criteria to select and justify the most effective solutions to complex problems; and synthesize creative ideas into actionable solutions by developing strategies for implementation, evaluation, and refinement.

Instruction:

This course on Creative Problem Solving explores the principles, processes, and practical applications of creative thinking in addressing complex problems. The course emphasizes the development of innovative thinking skills through structured techniques such as questioning, observation, idea generation, and decision-making. Students examine how curiosity, continuous learning, self-awareness, and interdisciplinary perspectives contribute to creativity and effective problem solving and prepares students to think critically and creatively in academic, professional, and everyday contexts while fostering adaptability and innovation.
